CEO Jason Flom on Fox Business

Lava Records’ CEO Jason Flom sits down with Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business about the Apple Music x Taylor Swift feud, head of A&R, and his journey as a label veteran (Virgin, Atlantic, Capitol). 

In a Tumblr post addressed  'To Apple, Love Swift'  Taylor spoke out about the new music player stating, “I’m sure you are aware that Apple Music will be offering a free 3 month trial to anyone who signs up for the service. I’m not sure you know that Apple Music will not be paying writers, producers, or artists for those three months. I find it to be shocking, disappointing, and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company.”

In response to Swift’s strong position, Flom responded “Artists have the right to get paid for their content...That’s where it has to go...Taylor is in a unique position, and I’m very proud of the way she handled the situation.”
